Q: Introduce yourself and share what motivated you to join our Summer Rec Camp Sports Staff team at Elevate CNY.

A. Hello, my name is Hunter Kierpiec and I just recently graduated from Westmoreland High School. I became a part of Elevate in November of 2022 because I felt like I can make a difference in a family-friendly environment where I would be able to help all sorts of people.

Q: How does working in a youth-oriented recreational camp like ours influence your perspective on community and sportsmanship?

A. Working in a youth oriented recreational camp has really showed me kids from all different backgrounds. However, due to our exceptional Elevate staff, we are able to unite all the kids so we can all have fun together!

Q: Drawing from your own sporting experiences, what strategies or approaches do you find most effective for managing stress and staying focused during high-pressure moments in games or activities?

A. Based on my own sporting experiences, I believe that teamwork is key to success and that it allows us all to persevere through the struggles. When we all work together, it makes things go much better for the staff and kids, as they are fully engaged throughout the day, ready to do new things!

Q: Everyone brings something special to the team. What unique qualities or experiences do you bring to the Elevate team that will enhance our offerings?

A. I bring lots of positivity to Elevate CNY, as I want everyone to succeed! I’m confident in saying that a lot of kids look up to me as they can count on me to help them out whenever something doesn’t go their way.

Q. Outside of work, what activities or hobbies do you enjoy that help you recharge and maintain your enthusiasm for sports and youth mentorship?

A. Outside of work, I enjoy fishing and kayaking as it may be very peaceful! I love the outdoors and hanging with my friends! I’m big into baseball as I have been playing my entire life.
