On the road to graduate school, with a pit stop at Elevate CNY!

Meet Evan DeLutis, a college intern and sports team member, spending his summer at Elevate CNY!

Q: Tell us about yourself and why you joined the Elevate CNY team this summer!

A: I’m Evan, the youngest of two. I recently graduated from St. John Fisher University with a degree in Sport Management, where I also played football.  I joined Elevate because of its amazing family-like atmosphere, which I wanted to be a part of this summer.

Q: How has your internship at Elevate shaped your views on teamwork?

A: My internship at Elevate has shown me the importance of teamwork and respect through athletics and life. Supporting your peers while respecting others is a great mindset and skill to strive for.  I got to work hands on at DeLutis field, then went to Elevate and working with all of the rec camp kids and teams was great. It was really refreshing to be able to teach kids all the different sports.

Q: Tell us how you focus and handle stress during high-pressure situations.

A: It is important to remember to have fun and be happy during high-pressure moments. Stress can often lead to anger and diminish the enjoyment of any activity or game you play. Staying positive and enjoying every moment has helped me manage this stress.  It's important to help the kids understand that their are ups and downs with everything and it's important to control your emotions during the downs.

Q: What superpower do you bring to the Elevate team this summer?

A: This summer, I want to bring a lot of positivity and kindness to Elevate.

Q: Tell us about your life outside of work and school!

A: I enjoy working out, golfing, and spending time with my family.  I like to spend the summer swimming and playing basketball with my friends.
