We love having young team members working with us in the summertime! They get to build their skills, share their love of sports and inspire young campers and athletes.

Meet Allison Ellis - one of our newest Sports Team Members!

Q: Tell us about yourself and why you’re excited to be on the Elevate staff!

A: Hi, I’m Allison Ellis! I enjoy working with kids and positively influencing my community, and ICAN is the perfect program to guide me on this journey.

Q: What inspires you about working at Elevate CNY?

A: I grew up with four younger siblings, and watching children learn and grow has always been inspirational! They are the new generation, and working at Elevate, I get to participate in their growth, which is fantastic!

Q: What advice would you give athletes on managing stress and staying focused during high-pressure situations?

A: You’re not alone! It’s called a team for a reason. Growing up doing martial arts helped me learn discipline and respect. But, most of all, I learned how to ask for help. Being in a team is a balancing act. We all need to lean on each other. Sometimes we need more support, and sometimes we need less. It’s all about when you know you need it. And a great team will always offer.

Q: Tell us about your goals in life!

A: My college major is EMT/Paramedics and emergency medical services. I aspire to become a full-time EMT, help save lives, and provide a safer environment for everyone. Being a first responder in training has already given me a perspective on how important it is to speak up when you need help.

Q: How do you like to relax and recharge?

A: Besides martial arts, I grew up playing hockey, cheerleading, shooting archery, and running track! Sports have always been a major way for me to express myself. I am also active at my college, participating in student congress and being president of the art club and archery club, all while being an RA. I love to keep busy!
